Join us for the “Visions of Ely Square” Closing Reception and Art Auction featuring the artwork created during the July Third Thursday Live Art Competition. After being on display at the Elyria Arts Council throughout the month, these one-of-a-kind pieces will be auctioned during this special fundraiser supporting the Elyria Community Partnership. Enjoy an evening celebrating local artists, viewing the full collection one last time, and bidding on your favorite works. Admission is free and all are welcome! Come ready to appreciate great art and support the community.

“Visions of Ely Square” Exhibition

Presented by the Elyria Community Partnership, this exhibition features artwork created during the 2026 July Third Thursday Live Art Competition. As part of ECP’s annual summer Third Thursday event series in Downtown Elyria, local artists were challenged to capture their unique vision of Ely Square in just 90 minutes.

Each summer, Third Thursday brings the community together through live music, local food, art, vendors, and interactive experiences that celebrate the energy and creativity of Downtown Elyria. During the Live Art Competition, visitors had the opportunity to watch artists create original works inspired by Ely Square in real time.

Each piece in this exhibition offers a unique perspective of the heart of Downtown Elyria, highlighting the talent of local artists and the shared spaces that bring our community together. The artwork will be auctioned at the Closing Reception on October 22nd at the Elyria Arts Council, with proceeds supporting future Elyria Community Partnership public art initiatives and community programming.

2026 Live Art Contest

The gazebo came alive on July 30th during our Ely Square Artistic Rendition Live Art Contest at Third Thursday: Art in the Square. In just 90 minutes, six local artists created stunning interpretations of Elyria’s East Falls.

Congratulations to Jammie Frye, winner of the 2026 Ely Square Visionary Medal! Thanks to all participating artists—Tyler Sims, Wayne Chunat, Anne Jesse, Kevin Kirsh, and Joe Herrera —for their creativity and spirit, and to moderators Deborah Krejsa and Mary Bell for guiding the event!
